There is a choice of materials for your dining table, including various types and finishes of wood, marble and glass. With additional material choices for legs and table stands. Choose a classic all wood table in modern or retro style in lush walnut or opt for the intricate detail and pattern of a marble table top with solid wooden legs. Wooden tables will look better with age, especially if the surfaces are well maintained and treated as required.
Choose a square cornered or round table depending on your available space or think about an extendable option if you want to keep your dining area compact but want the option to add extra guests on special occasions. Think about whether you want chunky wooden legs or a sleek and modern base. You also need to consider what seating options are available, with a choice of chairs and dining benches available in our range. Or you might choose to go for one of our complete dining room sets, with stylishly matched chairs and tables in a range of shapes and sizes.
Small dining tables for four people are small and compact – ideal if space is at a premium in your dining room or you’re making a dining area in another part of the house. Choose chairs or dining benches that tuck neatly under the surface to further cut back on the room they take up or choose an extender to give yourself the option to seat more guests when needed.
Type - Wooden Dining Tables
A small dining room table for four people will generally be between 75cm and 90cm wide and 75cm and 100cm long. This provides ample seating space for four adults but also keeps size to a minimum when you need to maximise the available space.
Before making your choice, measure how much space you have and make sure you take into account the room you will need when seated at chairs or benches, plus any additional space that might be required to walk around the table. Ideally you will need 40 to 50 cm for walkway space or access. This should tell you how big or small you need to go with your table.
A rectangular table that seats four will usually be between 75cm and 100cm wide and the same in length. That will allow space for two people to eat comfortably on each side of the table.
